Meet Athena
Athena has always had a passion for singing, acting, and writing. While attending school here in the valley, she enjoyed participating in plays, musicals, choirs, and was a state finalist in Solo Audition - a category where actors present two contrasting monologues.
After high school, Athena earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance at Florida International University in Miami. There, she took acting classes including Accents and Dialects, Shakespeare Performance, Playwriting, and more. She was nominated for an Irene Ryan Award for her acting, and had her original short plays performed in a few local festivals.
During a college acting class, Athena needed a hands-on activity to do while performing, and picked up a new passion for fiber arts (knitting and crochet). She especially loves making small animals and clothing accessories!
For the last several years, Athena has worked as an instructor teaching Improv, Acting, Musical Theatre, Voice, Ukulele, Crochet and Knitting. One of her greatest joys in life is to watch her students grow in confidence, and build strong techniques for the future.
She is excited to join the Sound and Stage Academy team, and looks forward to helping her students ignite their passions!
