You Are Good Enough
Step into the world of Auradon this fall in our production of Descendants: The Musical! Students ages 8+ will rehearse Tuesday and Thursday evenings, building acting, singing, dancing, and storytelling skills as they bring this high-energy Disney favorite to life. With two full casts, every performer receives meaningful stage time and opportunities to grow their craft in a supportive, ensemble-focused environment. From the first rehearsal to the final curtain call, students will build confidence, friendships, and unforgettable memories while creating something extraordinary together.

The Whole Package
Descendants is more than just rehearsing a show, it’s stepping fully into the process of producing a musical.
Performers will work each week on scenes, music, and choreography, but the experience goes far beyond learning lines and steps. They’ll dig into script analysis, explore vocal technique and music theory, and discover how choreography is more than just dance, it’s intentional movement that helps tell the story.

In addition to scheduled rehearsals, performers will have access to alternating weekly bonus workshops on Fridays and Saturdays, offering an additional 3–4 hours each week to dive deeper into the script, strengthen their craft, and grow as musical theatre performers. Each performer will also receive one complimentary one-on-one private lesson for individualized coaching and support.

Come work alongside a dedicated team of directors, grow as a performer, and help bring the magic, mischief, and unforgettable world of Auradon to the stage!

Our Approach
At Sound & Stage Academy, we believe the best performances begin with meaningful storytelling. Whether you're stepping onto the stage for the very first time or refining years of experience, actors of all skill levels are welcomed, challenged, and supported throughout the journey. Through Descendants: The Musical, performers will dive beyond memorizing lines and choreography to explore each character's motivations, relationships, and growth while discovering what makes every hero, and every villain, so compelling.

Rehearsals are filled with high-energy singing, dynamic choreography, ensemble-building, and character exploration inspired by classic fairy tales and the stories that shaped them. Along the way, we'll weave in literature, folklore, and theatrical techniques that deepen actors' understanding of the world of Auradon while strengthening their performance skills, building confidence, and fostering a lifelong love of storytelling.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my student has no theatre or arts experience?
Perfect! Our program welcomes beginners and experienced students alike. Every class is designed to meet students where they are while encouraging growth, confidence, and creativity.
How are roles cast?
Every actor is cast in the production. Auditions help us determine the best role for each performer and place them in one of our two casts. Our goal is to create a balanced production where every actor has meaningful opportunities to contribute and grow.
Are your instructors background checked and trained?
Yes. Every Sound & Stage Academy instructor completes a comprehensive background check before working with students. Our team also participates in ongoing professional development throughout the year, including child safety training, inclusive teaching practices, classroom management, neurodiversity and accessibility education, and age-appropriate developmental strategies. We believe great teaching means continually learning and growing alongside our students.
Every child learns differently, and we celebrate that. Our classes combine movement, discussion, visual arts, music, storytelling, hands-on projects, and collaborative learning so students can engage in ways that build on their strengths. We strive to create an environment where every student feels safe to take creative risks, ask questions, and grow at their own pace.
What should actors expect during rehearsals?
Absolutely! We welcome first-time performers and experienced actors alike. Our productions are built around growth, encouragement, and collaboration, and every actor is given the tools to succeed.
