How to Train Your Dragon the Musical:
A Day With Dragons

Tuesdays • 10:00 AM–3:30 PM
You Are Kind Enough

Step into the world of Berk this fall as our Tuesday homeschool program brings How to Train Your Dragon to life through a full day of arts-integrated learning, creativity, and community. Families are welcome to register for individual à la carte classes to fit busy schedules, but we encourage students to experience the complete journey by enrolling in the full day. Along the way, they'll rehearse and perform How to Train Your Dragon: The Musical, one of the first theatres in the country to bring this brand-new, heartfelt story to the stage, while exploring history, theatre, music, dance, visual art, and storytelling, all woven together through the semester's Viking-inspired theme.

Our Approach

Stories have a way of making learning unforgettable. Every class is thoughtfully connected through one shared adventure, transforming theatre, history, art, writing, music, and more into an immersive experience. As students create together, they strengthen their creativity, curiosity, confidence, and friendships, discovering that some of the best learning happens when imagination leads the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my student has no theatre or arts experience?

Perfect! Our program welcomes beginners and experienced students alike. Every class is designed to meet students where they are while encouraging growth, confidence, and creativity.

Can my student attend just one class?

Absolutely! À la carte enrollment allows families to choose individual classes that fit their schedule. For students who want the full experience, including our themed enrichment and musical production, we recommend enrolling in the full-day program.

Are your instructors background checked and trained?

Yes. Every Sound & Stage Academy instructor completes a comprehensive background check before working with students. Our team also participates in ongoing professional development throughout the year, including child safety training, inclusive teaching practices, classroom management, neurodiversity and accessibility education, and age-appropriate developmental strategies. We believe great teaching means continually learning and growing alongside our students.

Every child learns differently, and we celebrate that. Our classes combine movement, discussion, visual arts, music, storytelling, hands-on projects, and collaborative learning so students can engage in ways that build on their strengths. We strive to create an environment where every student feels safe to take creative risks, ask questions, and grow at their own pace.
